Garage Addition with Sitting Room Above
We received a call from the owners of this property that we feel is the new
trend among established home owners. The home owners wanted a second garage with
additional space for a weight lifting. Their children have moved away and
occasionally visit, some with children of their own. It was decided that a two
story addition with the garage on the bottom and a sitting room above would suit
their needs. Because the garage would be used for more than just parking cars,
it was to be completely finished and provided with a climate control system.
Like most older homes, the master bedroom and the other bedroom that would
adjoin the new second floor addition lacked sufficient closet space. The design
provided for walk-in closets accessible from both bedrooms as well as linen
closets.
The completed project fits well with the neighborhood as well as
complimenting the original house.
